This operation will be evaluated on the basis of how well required practices are applied and how well required resource protection is achieved. 2) Compliance with Forest Practices Act rules for spotted owls is not in lieu of compliance with any federal requirements related to the federal Endangered Species Act. Federal law prohibits a person from taking northern spotted owls. Taking under the federal law may include significant alteration of owl habitat on any class of land ownership. Federal law prohibits a person from taking northern spotted owls. Taking under the federal law may include significant alteration of owl habitat on any class of ownership (OAR 629-665-0210 (4)).
