Due to a glitch in the FERNS program, the public comment period incorrectly closed. This public comment was received on 5/09/18. "This will be an aerial pesticide application taking place next to a well used public park. In the past there was no public notification designating when, in real time, this was to take place. This should not be happening, but if Weyerhaeuser proceeds with this plan, ODF and Weyerhaeuser should make plans to notify the managers of the park prior to the application and ODF, the park and the timber company should take on the responsibility of ensuring that the public knows when this operation will take place, so that pregnant women and young children will not be harmed by the effects of drifting chemicals that are known to be dangerous to them. I suggest that flyers be posted in the park and an alert be put on the park’s website on the day the application takes place. I also think the timber company should be encouraged to backpack spray instead to reduce the threat of drift."

Fully implementing this written plan is likely to achieve the resource protection standards. This operation will be evaluated on the basis of how well required practices are applied and how well required resource protection is achieved.
