    • The operation has steep or erosion-prone slopes or high landslide hazard locations. No ground-based machinery activity may occur on slopes which are steep or erosion-prone within 100 feet of any stream or on high landslide hazard locations, without a State Forester approved Plan for Alternate Practice. Generally slopes over 60% are considered steep and erosion prone. OAR 629-630-0150(4) through (9) describe the specific protection standards. Slopes should be verified on site by operator prior to operations starting. See the protected resource map in documents for approximate locations of steep slopes within operation area.

A statutory written plan is required for any activities within the riparian management areas of fish streams. Cable yarding through/over or cable hung through/over would be included in the activities requiring a statutory written plan.

This notification alone does not permit you to burn. In addition to your notification to burn slash, once you have your slash piled, you must also submit a smoke management registration at the Western Lane office in Veneta and then get verbal permission from the smoke management team. Please keep in mind that there is a 7 day waiting period after the day smoke registrations are submitted before you can request a burn day.
