Reviewed. A written plan is required prior to operating within the 100ft stream buffer of Eagle Cr. or Currin Cr. both large fish streams. The wetlands adjacent to Eagle Cr. also measure out to be larger than 8 acres which make them significant in size. Significant wetlands have riparian management areas extending 100 feet from the wetlands. A written plan is required prior to operating within the riparian buffer of a significant wetland. Contact ODF for more information about tree retention standards and requirements regarding significant wetlands. There are two Osprey resource sites adjacent or within harvest unit areas. A written plan is required prior to working within 300ft of either of these sites. During the critical period of use, the active nest tree and any perch tree identified as a key component shall be protected from disturbance. From March 1st through September 15th, forest operations shall not be permitted within 600 feet of the active nest tree or perch tree unless the State Forester determines that the operations will not cause the birds to flush from these trees. The critical period of use may be modified in writing by the State Forester as the resource site is evaluated as per OAR 629-665-0020. ODF wildlife biologist will need to review these resource sites prior to any activity within 600ft of these sites. Also clearcut areas over 25 acres require the retention of wildlife trees under ORS.527.676. State law requires that wildlife trees consisting of two green trees or snags per acre at least 30 feet in height and 11 inches DBH along with two downed logs or downed trees per acre to be retained within the harvest area. At least 50% of leave trees and down wood must be conifer. Some of the operation area is also located within the Clackamas River Scenic Corridor which is regulated by Oregon State Parks. The operator will need to submit a written plan to OPRD staff and receive written approval prior to harvesting these areas. No other resource concerns at this time.
